Nashville-based commercial real estate investment firm Elmington Capital Group has announced the hiring of Dan Ford as president of its Elmington Property Management division.

Elmington Property Management manages both apartment communities and commercial real estate for Elmington Capital Group, as well as third-party and private and institutional property owners.

Ford’s hiring follows Elmington Capital Group’s recent $4.2 million acquisition of the 8th Avenue Commons retail strip center in the Melrose district (read more here) and its $17.6 million purchase of the high-profile Demonbreun Street retail strip center located near the Music Row Roundabout (read more here).

Ford (pictured) comes to Elmington with more than 20 years of property management experience. He most recently spent 13 years at Freeman Webb Co. where he led the property management of more than 15,000 apartment units and approximately 1 million square feet of commercial property.

Prior to his work with Freeman Webb, Ford worked for Trammell Crow Residential, Cornerstone REIT, First Union and Bank One.
